Well congratulations! Finally you have decided to get a dog in your home. Pets can be the most important and loving member of the family. You must know that if you bring a dog, you are inviting a big responsibility on you. Some people buys a dog or puppy and then get bored easily, you need to understand that they are not toys and you cannot treat them aa the source of your entertainment so think again before getting a pet. You must do ” To – do list ” before adding a new loving member in your family which are given below :-

 1. RESEARCH, RESEARCH AND RESEARCH :-

Doing research is one of the most important thing you should do before owning a dog. First you have to decide which breed you wants. There are many information available on the internet, you can choose any breed which matches your lifestyle, for example if you want a active family dog who can get along well with your kids then it is recommended you to buy golden retreiver. You will find everything on the internet like caring of the dog, what to feed them, training etc.
You can also talks to your friends who have pets and can ask them about their experience with their pets. Research will help you to clear everything in your mind.

2. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOT ENOUGH TIME :-

This, too, is very important. I hope you already know that if you want a dog, you must spend time with your dog. Dogs are great companions to human beings, but they get easily bored if left alone, he can also be depressed so you have to take out time from your busy schedule. Also you also have to train him which also takes time. Once you buy a dog, there are many things that you should do like visiting vet care, training, feeding etc.
Always remember that dogs are not like goldfish that you can leave him alone, you have to take care of him just like your own child. Dogs are like babies, you need to teach them everything, otherwise they could get spoiled. If you often busy with your work then you should not get a dog however you can buy other pets like fish but if you want a dog, you must spend time with him.
3. PUPPY – POOFED HOME :-

If you want a puppy, then make sure to make your house puppy – poofed from top to bottom before bringing the adorable puppy in your home. Keep all your things away from your puppy where he can’t reach like shoes, valuables etc as they loves to chew everything. I have already discussed about this topic in one of my previoua article. Even if you are planning to bring an adult dog in your home, you should arrange everything like you do for puppies, poofing your house. As we all know that dogs love to explore their surroundings, so, by puppy – poofing your house, you are ensuring his safety.
4. COSTLY :-

Dogs are high – maintainence pets so make sure to have enough money in your pocket to spend on your loving companion. Even after spending money on adopting a dog, you will have to spend on his annual care too, like vet care bills, food, or any other unexpected costs. But hey! Why does it matter how much dog costs? I mean it’s worth it, right? If you love your pet, you would not put a price on his happiness and health.

5. DISCUSS WITH YOUR FAMILY :- You should discuss about it with your family whether they are ready to welcome a new dog or not. You can ask everyone if they feels scared of the dogs and if yes, you can help them to overcome with this fear. Also ask your children what role they can make in caring of the new pet, teach them to respect dogs. As some children thinks pet as their toys and they even try to tease them and, in return, dog might hurt them.

6. ASK YOURSELF :-

Dog-with-Man

This is the final step and the most important one, too. Ask yourself if you really want a dog or not. You have to be honest in this. Owning dog comes with a great responsibility. Some people wants only to buy puppies for their fun but when they grows up, they leave him. If you are one of them, then I suggest you not yo buy it as it will be fun for you but can ruin his life.

If you will give love, affection and care to your dog then he will also love you back. Believe me, there is nothing adorable than your dog loving you back. When you come back to your home after a hectic busy schedule, you will feel great when your dog welcomes you. I know getting a dog is a lot of mess but after getting so much love from him, it will worth it.
