The cat’s daily routine.

Wakes up at sometime in the morning when he is hungry. Wakes Kevin up. Eats some food then sleeps again in front of Kevin so that he gets angry for getting awaken. Then when Kevin starts jumping and running because he is late for his work, the cat sits in a higher ground and watches Kevin and the dog. Yes. The stupid dog always follows Kevin around the house whenever he is in a hurry. Furball, the cat almost feels sorry for Mudball the dog. But sometimes the thought crosses Furball’s mind that the dog might want to just annoy Kevin. Then after a long homerun Kevin finally leaves the house and that’s how the cat’s reign starts. He takes over the house and scares the dog in every way possible.

After Kevin leaves for work, the cat acquires a higher ground to lick himself clean and to watch over the dog. Sometimes he comes and sleeps beside the dog when and sometimes he makes the dog stand so that he can play peek-a-boo with the dog’s legs. The cat loves the dog but he has his own ways to express it. When Mudball is not around his bed, Furball sleeps on his bed with Mudball’s favourite chew toy and even after Mudball comes back and looks at the cat helplessly, Furball doesn’t leave the place. And when Mudball tries to push Furball off of his bed, the great cat slaps Mudball or fluffs his fur to scare him. He just simply doesn’t give up on the places he acquires.

The Dog’s daily routine.

The dog wakes up when he needs to go to outside. He wakes Kevin up and becomes his constant companion until he leaves for work. Sometimes, while accompanying Kevin he lies down on the ground and Kevin stumbles over. That’s the best time of the day when Kevin tumbles over and breaks his nose or something and curses the dog. That totally makes Mudball’s day. But the day is still not over. After Kevin leaves for work Furball scares him. Sometimes by affection and sometimes by purely scaring him.

Sometimes, when Mudball goes to the toilet to drink water from the toilet, Furball takes over his bed and favourite chew toy and scares him off when he tries to get them back. Poor Mudball goes and sleeps in a corner. He doesn’t always like the cat. Bad cat!

While Kevin is away, Mudball has so much to do. He makes a list so he doesn’t forget.

Mudball’s To-Do list,

  • Sleep.
  • More sleep.
  • Drink water from the toilet (it’s better done when Kevin is not around).
  • Annoy the cat.
  • Try to get back the dog kingdom (which is basically a dog bed and some chew toy and a sock).
  • Bark at the postman.
  • Bark at the neighbour’s dog.
  • Bark at the birds.
  • Pretend something has happened just to make the cat curious and leave the dog kingdom.
  • Stand for the cat because he loves to play peek-a-boo.

When everything is done Mudball and Furball wait for Kevin at the door and about time Kevin shows up. The dog gets happy. The second best time of the day. The cat waits at a distance for Kevin to come up and pet him.

When Kevin Returns

When Kevin Returns

Then they go to the park. But the cat doesn’t always feel like going. So he stays back and gets some sleep or when he goes with them he simply watches Kevin and Mudball play fetch. It’s hard to tell who is fetching the flying saucer. They both seem worked up. And sometime Kevin runs in four legs to ply with the dog. And when it rains they get dirty in the mud. The cat is the clean royal creature. He never mixes himself up with those two. When they get dirty both of them smell like dog and the cat never understand why they becomes so happy after a good mud bath. The cat simply goes there to babysit two creatures with very low IQ.

Playing with Kevin is the best thing for Mudball and it gets better when there’s so much mud. Mudball becomes an actual Mudball and he doesn’t spare Kevin. All of them get home when the cat is done with satisfying his curiosity on neighbours.

They get home, they eat food, and they watch TV. They cuddle together. Kevin tells them stories. And then when Kevin works they sit beside him with occasional attention seeking behaviours. The cat sleeps on Kevin’s lap, the dog barks at nothing so that Kevin understands that he is here. Furball and Mudball stare at Kevin and then they eat and sleep.

The day doesn’t end here. At 3.00 AM in the morning Mudball wakes Kevin up for taking him to the garden. And when Kevin takes him to the garden, instead of peeing, he just sniffs things. Then at around 4 o’ clock Furball wakes Kevin up because he is hungry.

But with all their faults they are the best pets in the world. To Kevin, to us because every pet owner thinks that their pets are the best and every one of them is right. :)
