Cats are perfect pet for many people. This might be because of their affectionate behavior, playful personalities or adorable appearance. Besides from being cute, they require proper care in order to stay content and healthy. In this article, i am going to give you some general cat care tips which will help you to learn how to make your adorable cat to be healthy and happy.
1. GETTING A CAT :-
If you do not have a cat and want to invest money and time in one then try to find a particular breed of cat which suits your your home and your life style. You can research on different cats’ breeds. If you do not stay in your house most of the time, and you are planning to leave your cat all alone in your house then i will suggest you to buy two cats at the same time as they will keep each other company and won’t get bored. Also if you are going to keep your cat indoor then it is a good idea if you will select a breed which quiet and not very active. You also need to remember that cats come in wide range of coat types, sizes, and personalities. Particularly coat length is also very important as it will actually affect the impact of shedding at your house and will determine how much grooming you’ll have to do.
2. HOUSE TRAINING YOUR CAT :-
Try to house – train your ct as soon as possible. Don’t wait for your kitty to get used to doing all the bad habits in your home, the more you wait, the more habits they will get used to. If you want your cat to include in ”good members” in your family then this is the first thing which you should keep in mind. If you are going to house – train your cats then remember that there are many strategies and techniques which you can follow, but don’t punish your loving cat if they can’t follow you instructions properly. There is only one thing you can do, during house training is to be patient with them. If you will bring an older cat in your home then usually, all you have to do is to show him the litter box once where it is and then training session is simply over. Even if you are bringing a kitty in your home then it might take some of your time but once it’s over, it will be really worth it. But always remember not to move the litter box quickly to another place, otherwise, your kitty may use to continue that place and they won’t care whether the litter box is there or not.
3. FEEDING CATS :-
When you are feeding your cats, the most important thing you should keep in mind that they are carnivores. They are different from human beings and dogs. You can feed them high quality balanced premium of commercial food. You can also feed them natural food which includes fresh raw meat and raw meaty bones. Do not feed them chocolates as they can cause gastrointestinal problems in them. You can also feed them natural treats including pears, bananas, apples by cutting them out in small pieces. You can feed them a small/medium/large bowl of dry – food, depending on the size of your cat. Do not ever leave food all day for them as they’re meant for being hunters and then catching their prey not having food that is left out for them when they want it. In the dinner, you can give them wet cat food which will be good for them rather than feeding him dry or wet food all the time.
4. GROOMING CATS :-
Cats groom themselves frequently, but you will still need to brush long – haired cats daily and short – haired cats weekly. Also, you will have to make sure that your cat is free from fleas and other parasites in order to make them healthy and happy and also makes your home free from these type of parasites. For cats that are likely to shed especially long – haired, you can use comb which has fine strands of metal as this will get deep into their coat and will eliminate shedding.
5. KEEPING YOUR CAT HEALTHY :-
Take your cat to the vet once a year for checkup and also you should have them neutered/spayed, be vaccinated and wormed. You will also need to make their teeth healthy. You are going to need a veterinary toothpaste and soft – bristled toothbrush. Initially, you can start by making him taste the toothpaste. Even with the best use of tooth brush, your loving cat might still need an occasional professional – training, just like us.
6. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR CAT :-
Now this is one of the important task you will have to do, if you are going to adopt a cat. You will have to interact with him daily. You can also use cat toys, grooming, talking as chances in order to spend time with your cat.
