Everybody dreams to have someone in their life on which they can blindly trust & can expect unconditional love! Some find this love in their mother, father, friend, wife, husband, and teacher or even in pets. We’ve heard countless stories of the ancient times, where a pet sacrifices its life to save the life of its master. In this fast & early time too, we can hear lots of such stories where the love, loyalty & trust never goes unheard of, and so by getting inspired from such stories many people dream to have pets & make them the most important of their lives. But many of them end up bad with the dreams they saw, because the lack of care or the most important of all love, just doesn’t build that type of relationship in between a dog & its master.
One should understand that petting a dog doesn’t mean to just enjoy the company of a dog who just plays around, takes care of the house until you come back or is available only when you need it! Keeping a pet is a big responsibility. You are just not taking care of someone who cannot have food on its own when you are not around, or can go out for a walk on itself, or can take care of itself in case of emergencies or can never fall sick, or even if does then knows how to get back to normal! Therefore, there are few things to keep getting yourself checked with when you plan to pet a dog:
1. Don’t pet a dog if you are busy all the time!
People need to understand that petting a dog means a lot of accountability. If one cannot take care of the dog every time or has to travel a lot due to the work, then in such a case, there should be someone hired for to care of the little pet on your back.
2. Don’t pet a dog if you’ll ground your dog for bringing in dirt or a pool of drool!
One should understand that a dog is a little baby who can only mess things around, be it the toys, poop, pee, food or anything. It will not clean up the space on its own. Cleaning the house will be added to your list. However there can be a relief if you don’t believe in the phrase “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”!
3. One should not get a dog if you don’t like vets and animal care centres!
One has to understand that keeping a dog means regular visits to the vet. Medically fit dog will be less prone to the diseases that dogs develop really fast. Even the tics can make a dog fall sick, and when dogs fall sick, it generally a little tough to figure about what is wrong with the dog, unless taken to a vet.
4. You don’t deserve a dog if you can’t be patient!
I know I’m being evil here but to own a dog one has to be really patient. Some dogs are really quick & act tremendously when you command them. But you need to understand that every dog is different & so are their behaviors. A person should be very tolerant enough while giving the dog the right training to understand how to be quick, intelligent & skillfully active.
5. You should not keep a dog if you can’t be encouraging!
This is to be understood that dogs tend to get sad or depressed very soon, and the only sight that can make them go mad with happiness is the sight of its master returning back or its favorite food or activity. Therefore a wrong behavior or not encouraging your dog’s efforts to make you happy or smile can be harmful for the dog’s mental growth. A dog needs to be shown love time to time!
6. Do not keep a dog if you wish to leave it on the leash every moment!
Leaving a dog outside the house on a leash in hot days or cold nights, then firstly you’ll be put in jail for animal abuse & then God will make sure that your life toughens from that particular moment when you do such thing.
Leaving your dog like this can result in extreme illness & can kill your dog. If you wish to put your dog on a leash or lock up in the car on a hot day, then you should right away drop the idea of keeping any type of pet in your life!
Dogs are a precious & the most prized possession a person can have! They were made only to enrich the mankind, because God knew that his humans would need someone to take care of them, make them smile when they’re sad & put blind trust in when all the hopes of trust from the world are over! It is always said that you can judge a person’s heart the way he/she treats an animal and as an animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language, therefore we should always make sure that these eye do not say such a language that tells an unpleasant story & sounds terrified & scary! This fact should always be kept in mind that money can let us buy the finest pet of all the animals in the world, but only our love makes us worthy enough of their unconditional love, as they are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole! As someone very rightly quoted that animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their every actions, grateful & very loyal.
