You always used to think that one thing which makes animals different from human beings is brainpower or the intellect, the ability to think and reason and we can recognize us. However, there are many facts, figures, studies and researches to show that animals are equally brainy and intelligent as human beings are. Yes! I’m not being humorous; there are indeed plenty of scientific reasons to prove this fact. Remember that story of the crow that dropped stones into water to raise the water level? Here comes the huge wake up call, that story is not made up and it is based on a true incident. So, it is high time that we should stop considering all these beautiful creatures dumb and any inch less intelligent than us. Let’s just talk about these brilliant species all around us and get to know them in a better way.
The countdown begins with Elephants which are not only elegant and cultured but also possess excellent memory. They have capability of learning, they are brave, they have used been extensively in wars to. These combat over enemies. This giant species has larger brain in comparison to any other animal. The ability to understand what a family is, how to communicate with one another!
Now there comes Chimpanzees. They drive their 90% of genes from human beings and have decision making power. They are popular for their intelligence worldwide. These cute Chimps can undoubtedly learn words if taught play with objects around them and even mourn the deaths of their dear ones. They make such useful tools which help them to acquire food for themselves and also for social displays. They are competent in spontaneous planning for future.
Next on the list, it is Rat who is tend to be actively pro-social, affectionate and has excellent memory. According to a study, female rats are such beautiful souls that they would first free a caged rat, and then share the food placed in front of them. This small creature likes to keep itself clean and spends a lot of time in grooming itself. They love companionship and take care of injured or sick rats in their group.
This handsomely built mammal has high grasping power that it can quickly learn to identify the commands and body language. They are none other than slim and long-legged Horses who have ability to retain the knowledge. They are known for their strength and at the same time have the calm and patient temperament which works best to shove the ground.
In your opinion Pigs are none other than wicked and dirty animals ever seen on earth. But let’s just clear the air and look into the reality that they are exceptionally intelligent. They are said to be curious just like us and have habit of forming their own social groups. Pigs have the skill to adapt diverse atmospheres anywhere around the world. And it is evident that these mammals share physiological and behavioral resemblance to human beings. The old saying “sweat like pigs” is just a so fictitious, Pigs do not sweat at all, they are actually unable to perspire. One of the amazing facts about them is, they dream and are proved to be optimistic.
This tiny insect, Ant is although small in size but exhibits great strength to form intelligent network that helps to quickly spread any information among their groups. They are very much like humans who have tendency to store food and are organized in nature. Ant uses chemical communication to signal the other ant or the whole group in case of any nearing attack. Ants are qualified enough in optimizing the shortest path between the food and their nest.
An Octopus has wonderful memory and tremendous analysis ability. They are said to be fast learners which eventually makes them more smarter and intelligent aquatic animal. To escape a trap, they use their flexibility and alter their body shape. Octopuses remembers human faces and their own names, they like to play with their human friends and caretakers. In order to show their likeness towards an individual, they crawl affectionately towards that person.
Next, there is this charming marine mammal Dolphin who has talent to imitate behaviors of its human trainers and other dolphins. They are blessed with second most powerful and complex brain (first is clearly the royal creature, human being). They have unique language of clicks and sound which is used to communicate and co-ordinate while hunting. It is really hard to surprise a dolphin as it always stays attentive, while sleeping only half of its brain stops working and only one eye gets close.
