Most of us follow some or the other celebrity, be it a singer, an actor or even a politician. These celebrities are known to have a very elegant lifestyle, one that I’m sure we all would want to have as well. But what is even more curious is that quite a few celebrities have pets that live lavishly too! These animals are not just pets but are Celebrity pets. They are more famous than most of us will ever be. Lets take a look at a few of them.
1. Bo and Sunny
Nicknamed as “First Dogs”, Bo and Sunny are the pets of Barack Obama, the president of the United States and the residents of the White House. Bo and Sunny are both Portuguese water dogs, male and female respectively. This breed was specially selected because it is hypoallergenic and Malia Obama is allergic to dogs. Bo has already made appearances on television and also comic strips.
The royal pooch Lupo is a cocker spaniel belonging to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The name is an Italian word meaning wolf. The dog was given to Prince William and Kate Middleton by the latter’s parents. Kate is besotted with Lupo and he keeps her company while Prince William is away. He even has a page to himself on twitter.
3. OB Mally
Although he had just a brief stint as a celebrity pet, Mally the capuchin monkey does make it to this list. He used to be Justin Beiber’s pet but was taken by the German authorities after Beiber failed to produce the required documents before them.
4. Kitty Purry
Does this name sound a tad bit familiar to you? Yes, of course. It is similar to the name Katy Perry as it is her pet cat we are referring to here. Kitty is not only Katy’s sidekick but also her mascot who has appeared in one of her music videos. But apart from the fame that this cat receives due to Perry, it also has to be subject to the latter’s haircut experiments.
5. Meredith Grey Swift
Named after the character of Ellen Pompeo in Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith is the beloved Scottish Fold kitty of Taylor Swift. When once the cat went missing for a few hours during her Red tour, Taylor even threatened to sack everybody involved. This shows us that Meredith is certainly the central part in her life right now. She is included in a lot of Taylor’s blog posts and also has Twitter and Tumblr pages all to herself.
Months after her childhood dog, Alice passed away, Lady Gaga brought home a new puppy. She named the black French Bulldog Asia. Perhaps due to the animal’s long ears, Gaga dubbed it ‘Batpig’. She says that this is because the pet looks like its part bat and part pig.
Another Celebrity dog would be Ryan Gosling’s dog, George. Ryan is known to take George almost everywhere he goes, from the gym to his sets in different places. He also has special paperwork for this purpose. When the dog was 13, Ryan mentioned that he was quite sad because he thought that the dog would not survive another year. When he had to go away for shooting and could not take George along due to his health issues, he left him at a friend’s place but was sure to Skype with him everyday.
Finn is probably the only celebrity pet who is more famous internationally than his owner, Amanda Seyfried. This is because he is a very photogenic dog who has an instagram account with loads of fun selfies of his. He is also known to be able to balance inanimate objects on his head ranging from a hamburger to a live duckling. He has also demonstrated this antic on national television.
This Belgian Malinois is the prout pet of none other than Eva Mendes. She says that is a guard dog who was brought for security but he is really sweet. She takes him out a lot and is very protective about him. She does not like anybody knowing his name or snapping pictures of his because she wants to protect his privacy.
One of the most famous dogs of his time, Fala was gifted to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt by his cousins and became one of his most cherished companions. Fala often accompanied the former president to important event and when he was once left behind by mistake, his master sent a U.S. Navy Destroyer to retrieve him. He is even buried beside his master.
Being a Celebrity pet has its perks – pet spas, grooming worth a fortune and lots of other things, not to forget the popularity that the animal gets. They also get to travel the world and live the high-end life while wearing expensive and unnecessary clothing. Some of them even attend pet parties and other social events. Now I bet all the animals would wish for a life like this if it were possible. Who wouldn’t, right?
