Yes. Dogs are great and all but I have to balance an argument here. So now to all Ms. Pretty Kitties, High five! Cats are better than dogs in so many things. Like you know… things will come up! Let me think…
Yes I am aware of the fact that the cats have snatched the victory a long ago but still I would like to explain the reasons why.
Cats treat your guests politely: When a guest arrives at your home a dog will start barking or creating mess. They will start doing everything possible from running across the hallway to jumping around like a basketball or just plain scratching on your guest’s blazer to get some attention. But your cat will be nowhere to be seen or just observing from a higher place. If you are lucky enough and the cat is in mood he may come and greet your guest by a small twitching of the tail and that’s it you can’t expect any jumping on the lap or anything. The most he can do is ignoring the humans and go to sleep. I’m starting to think that they won’t greet your guests at all; politeness is out of the question.
Cats smell better than a dog: Even the best dog person can’t ignore the fact that a dog doesn’t smell very pleasant and no shampoo of this planet can make them smell good (to me they smell like happiness though). But a cat is always squeaky clean due to all those hours of endless grooming. Nobody has to ask you if you have a dog, their noses will tell them that, but apart from the cat furs on your clothes, anybody can hardly notice if you have a cat.
Cats are funnier than dogs: See for yourself! The internet is littered with funny cat posts. Their perfect timing while taking the snap changes it all. Somewhere they are swimming in invisible water, somewhere they are sleeping in a funny pose, somewhere that are showing some cat-itude. They look funny without them knowing it. Looks like cats are really very fond of comic timings. Most dogs need a bigger stage to be clowns and constant applause but not cats they are funny all by themselves.
Cats are quiet: Even the loudest cat is quieter than a dog. You don’t have to get complaints from neighbours about their barking. Most dogs will announce every event in their daily life, from a stranger at the door to new flavour of the dog treat. But a cat will meow or hiss; you can hardly hear that from the next room. Your neighbour will never call to tell you that they can’t sleep because of the cat’s hiss.
Cats are natural insect repellent: A cat basically tells all the bugs not to bug him and he means it. Cats are fascinated by the little winged and crawly things. He will go to any extent to examine it just a little better. He can climb walls, trees everything. A cat spends hours de-bugging his house but still hopes for some insects to show up and entertain him.
Cats are collectors: look at the toys you gave to your dog. They are all shattered but a cat carefully hides his precious toys under the bed or in the baskets. They fear that someone may steal their precious glittery ball or the jingle bell so they keep them safe in the “Cat Collectibles”.
Cats don’t need to be walked: The dog needs to be walked no matter what. He needs to go out. But a cat? Never. He doesn’t need any walking. He can sit by the window and use the litter box. And if he needs to walk, he can walk himself you just need to keep the door open. He will walk himself and return when he is done without a hassle. But a dog, he needs to be walked, if he finds the door open he will run a nice long run and the owner have to chase him or lure him back to the house. Disgraceful!
Cats bring you gifts: Cats enjoy bringing gifts for their loved ones. Sometimes it’s a dead mouse!!! Enough said.
Cats VS laser pointers: The only way a cat can play with you… well, not totally with you but with the laser pointers you point at the wall or at the floor. The cat has a weakness for the red dot and it will run forever hoping that someday he will catch it.
The happy purr: The cat’s rhythmic, satisfying, calming purr that lets you know that the feline is contented while the dog will act all childish and dance at your feet! No sound in this world can match the sound of a cat purr!
I know what above points look like, but those are all I have got to speak for the cats! Cats may be independent and all but that makes them better animals but not a better friend. The best friend’s place is always for the dogs.
