The pet was known to have accompanied the king of pop on business trips, used the same toilet as him and eaten candy in a movie theatre. The creature was shifted to an animal sanctuary, after display of aggressive behavior.3) Tortoise – Leonardo Dicaprio :
The famous Hollywood actor is known to have bought a 38-pound heavy Sulcata tortoise ,after having attended the North American Reptile Breeders Conference and Trade show in 2010, for $400, and petted it henceforth. The creature has a life span of upto 80 years ,and finds place among the most unusual celeb pets.4) King Cobra - Nicolas Cage :
The Hollywood actor , Nicolas Cage seems to have found the most stunning inspiration for his acting in the movie ‘Ghost Rider’ – his pet cobra. Sheba, as he calls her, is known to have hated the star and attempted to hypnotize him, whenever approached. In an attempt to captivate and terrorize the audience, Cage is known to have mimicked his cobra, during certain scenes of the ‘Ghost Rider’. The actor owns another king cobra, called Moby.5) Octopus – Nicolas Cage :
Just the cobra didn’t seem to do it all. Cage is famous for having the most unusual pet companion ever – an octopus. Originally bought to assist in improvement of Cage’s acting skills, the octopus was bid goodbye after Cage began facing financial difficulties due to his awkward expenditures.6) Alligator – John Quincy Adams :
The former US President was no less when it came to having the most unusual pets, back home. Originally received as a gift from the Marquis de Lafayette, the President’s Alligator had its place in the White House bathroom, accompanied by the silkworms that were pets to the president’s wife.7) Deer – Audrey Hepburn :
During the making of ‘Green Mansion’, in 1959, Audrey was suggested to take the baby deer from the set ,back home, so that it gets used to following her. The actress agreed and this developed an unbreakable bond between the two. The baby deer, Pippin, was as graceful as her and followed her in the Beverly Hills. The celebrity’s love for the pet led her to keep the deer after the production of the film as well.8) Kangaroo – Vanilla Ice :
No wonder rappers are the coolest people on the planet. Vanilla Ice, the famous rapper from the 80s is known to have had a pet kangaroo, named ‘Bucky Buckaroo’ ,which was technically a wallaroo – a hybrid of a kangaroo and a wallaby . The pet is known to have had a lover too – a pot bellied pig. With a track record of maximum number of dead pets, Charlie Sheen is very well known for his most bizarre pet – a Chinese water dragon. The creature was named ‘ Hopper Jr.’ and died of neglect, as a result of having fallen into a pool, when nobody was watching the poor thing.10) Micro Pigs – David Beckham :
When it comes to absolutely ‘out of the box’ choice of pets, the Beckhams are no less. David Beckham was known to pet micro pigs which were gifted by his wife Victoria Beckham for Christmas, 2009. The pets with the cost of over 1400 pounds or 2,200$ US are known to attain a maximum height of 14 inches.11) Chicken – Tori Spelling :
Spotting the famous reality TV star and author Tori Spelling out on the streets of Los Angeles is no big deal, not even when she’s with her famous pet chicken Coco Chanel. Coco ,along with all the love and affection from Tori, is also known to enjoy scones and various other human treats as food.
12) Lion – Tippi Hedren :
The famous actress and model from the 1970s, Tippi Hedren, mother of actress Melanie Griffith, gave way to a wild idea once. She decided to create a sanctuary for big cats just 30 miles away from Los Angeles. However, not all of the animals made the sanctuary their permanent abode. Tippi’s family got home a fully-grown lion home to keep as a pet. The family’s everyday routine with the lion, named Togar, was captured in a famous 1970s photo shoot.
